Members Bios

Sonya Vani
Resident of Windsor, Windsor/Essex Region

Sonya Vani received her Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Physical Therapy) in 1991 from the University of Western Ontario.  After graduating, Sonya’s commitment to the health and welfare in the region lead her to return home to practice physiotherapy in Windsor.  Early on she gained valuable experience in a hospital serving in a variety of areas including: intensive and acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, surgical and out patient services. Sonya has practiced in private physiotherapy clinics and in home care services through which she was able to witness the broader effects of an injury and illness on the clients as well as their families.

Sonya is currently working in home care physiotherapy along with some great new initiatives with both local hospitals, maintaining interest in the areas of neurology, gerontology, and prevention health education.

In addition to her work experience, Sonya has been an active member with the Ontario Physiotherapy Association acting in a variety of positions on the executive board of the Windsor District.
