Members Bios

Dr. Martin Lees
Resident of Sarnia, Sarnia/Lambton Region

Dr. Martin Lees has practiced at Bluewater Health and its predecessor hospital for over twenty years. His medical practice is focused on emergency medicine and emergency medical systems. He is an adjunct professor of medicine at the University of Western Ontario and is also a faculty member in the management programs at Capella University and Central Michigan University.

Dr. Lees holds an M.D. from the University of Ottawa, a Master's degree in Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in Management from Walden University. He is a Certified Health Executive and a member of the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society in Business, Management, and Administration. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Management and of the EXTRA program of the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation.

Dr. Lees has extensive management and leadership experience. Within Bluewater Health he has held positions as Department Chief, Medical Director, and V-P and President of Professional Staff. He has consulted for many organizations on change management, organizational development, and strategy. He has also published several articles in peer reviewed publications and is a member of the editorial board of Healthcare Management Forum.
