Chatham-Kent Residential Hospice

May 3, 2013

Dear residents of Chatham-Kent,

We understand that many Chatham-Kent residents are advocating for a residential hospice in this community, and the ESC LHIN is committed to the best care possible for our residents and their families, especially during the extremely emotional stage of end-of-life care.

We have reviewed the proposal submitted for the establishment of a residential hospice in Chatham-Kent. Our organization is certainly interested in this initiative, and we are working through it to see how we may be able to support the project. ESC LHIN staff have been in contact with the organizers involved in the planning of this project, and have committed to reviewing the proposal with the team and our Board of Directors.

If you would like the opportunity to engage further with our Board of Directors on this topic, we welcome you to attend our next Open Board Meeting, on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. At the beginning of every meeting, we allow time for open mic presentations; open mic provides the opportunity for community members to address the ESC LHIN Board on any topic. Each presenter is allowed a five-minute presentation, and the meeting permits enough time for three presenters. Please note: open mic is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on ESC LHIN Open Board Meetings, including open mic, visit our website www.eriestclairlhin.on.caor call 519-351-5677 ext. 3215.

Over the next several weeks, we will continue to work together to determine how we may be able to support this initiative. If you wish to receive a status update, contact Julie Goodison, Communications Coordinator, at julie.goodison@lhins.on.caor by phone, 519-351-5677 ext. 3215.

We thank you for your passion and continued commitment to our community.
