Smoking Cessation Survey
Health Care Professionals: The Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (ESC LHIN) and Windsor Family Health Team Want Your Input on Smoking Cessation Identification and Treatment for Patients/Clients
Research has clearly shown that smoking is a key risk factor in the incidence of the leading chronic diseases including cancer, stroke, respiratory illness and heart disease. A recent study by the Institute for Clinical and Evaluative Studies (ICES) has shown that amongst the four risk factors of smoking, poor diet, unhealthy alcohol consumption and lack of exercise, smoking has the most impact on hospital use.
The following survey is designed to assess the current involvement of health professionals in the ESC LHIN region in the identification of smoking and smoking cessation treatment/support for their patients/clients. This information will assist in addressing the needs of health care professionals and those patients/clients who are interested in smoking cessation as part of the future state care path model development.
