Urgent Priorities Fund
The Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) has $2.5 million in funding to support urgent priorities and Alternate Level of Care demands throughout the LHIN for 2008/2009.
The Urgent Priorities Fund is a funding investment by the Province of Ontario that allows the 14 Local Health Integration Networks to support new or existing services. Funding is intended to support activities that focus on improving access, equity, healthy outcomes, quality of care and efficiency.
“Urgent Priorities Funding will be used as one-time funding for key initiatives that will benefit our LHIN residents and the health care system”, said Gary Switzer, Chief Executive Officer, Erie St. Clair LHIN. “Our goal is to help relieve pressures in the system and to react to local gaps and opportunities that may benefit from immediate funding. The LHIN understands the needs of the community and now we have the ability to fund those needs accordingly.”
